Resort

Queenstown is a beautiful and adventure obsessed mountain town. It's small enough to be super friendly, yet large enough to have everything you need to keep you entertained throughout the season. There are heaps of great bars, clubs and restaurants so whether you want to chill out by a roaring fire or dance the night away to live bands or DJs, every taste is catered for.

Between July and September, there's no better place in the world to train as a ski instructor than New Zealand. The Remarkables & Coronet Peak are the two main ski areas in Queenstown and offer some of the best ski terrain in the Southern Hemisphere. Most of your training will be at Coronet Peak - which is the training destination choice of some of the best ski racers in the world who spend their season preparing for the World Cup races in the Northern Hemisphere. The resort has extensive groomed slopes and is an ideal training location for BASI assessments.

Now and again you will train at the Remarkables, which boasts a well maintained terrain park & great off piste skiing opportunities. We love to ski here for a bit of variety and to keep the stoke high.

Coaching

We've teamed up with a highly decorated & passionate team of instructors to deliver these training courses. The instructors are BASI level 4 ISTD certified as well as being qualified examiners - so you are in safe hands for setting yourself up for success. They'll iron out your technique and show you how to enjoy the most exciting terrain on the mountain, whilst fully preparing you for the BASI assessments.

Our partners most popular option is a 9-week BASI level 1 & 2 course - but there's also the option of a 4-week BASI level 1, a 5 week BASI level 2 or even a Level 3 'ski work & train' program.

Qualifications

This course is practical and industry driven, so it is ideal for aspiring instructors. Over the course of the 9 weeks you'll work towards the internationally respected Level 1 and 2 exams.  BASI qualifications are recognized and accepted by the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA), enabling BASI level 2 + instructors to work in ski schools all over the world.

During the course you'll receive plenty of advice and support about how to get into the industry, as well as building up a network of key industry contacts.

Weekends & Activities

There will be plenty to keep you entertained and active off the slopes. New Zealand is famed for its rugged mountains and amazing scenery, and Queenstown is the home of adrenaline. Bungee jumping, white water rafting, amazing hiking - the South Island has it all.
