FLYING
There are many small regional airports near to Serre Chevalier, rather than one large one that works for flights from all locations. We've therefore selected the airport that will work for the most arrivals. We'll be running transfers from TURIN airport at the following times:
Arrival Transfer:
04 Jan: pick up 1pm
02 Feb: pick up 12pm
01 Mar: Pick up 1pm
08 Mar: pick up 1pm
Please opt for a flight that lands with enough time for you to get through customs and baggage claim before the transfer.
Return Transfer:
01 Feb: drop off 8am
09 Feb: drop off 8am
08 Mar: drop off 8am
15 Mar: drop off 8am
Please opt for a flight that departs at least 2 hours after this.
TIMINGS DON'T WORK FOR YOU?
Nov 2024 - A new public shuttle service has just been released: #LINK1 | navettes Turin >Serre Chevalier >Montgenèvre with regular shuttles between Turin Airport and Serre Chevalier. The La Salle les Alpes- Aravet Le Mail is just a few meters from Mont Thabor
FLYING FROM FURTHER AFIELD
If Turin doesn't work from your destination then you could also consider Grenoble or Lyon. For international flights, you may even need to fly to Paris and take the train down to Briancon. There's lots of helpful information here: Getting there. From Grenoble you can book onto a Ben's Bus to take you directly to Serre Chevalier. Pre-booking is essential - I would urge you to do it as soon as you book your flights because they do get booked up: Transfers from Geneva, Grenoble & Lyon Airports to Ski Resorts fr £27 (bensbus.co.uk)
TRAIN
If you want a more relaxing journey, consider taking the train to Briancon, it's then a short bus or taxi ride to Mont Thabor

DRIVING
There are several free car parks in Serre Chevalier, including one just opposite the Hotel: Parking Guisane, 1725 Route de Briançon, 05240 La Salle-les-Alpes.
Heads Up! If there is a big snow fall you will be expected to move your car either early in the morning or in the evening to allow for the snow clearing.
You can drive up to the hotel to drop off your bags, and they will also be able to point you in the direction of the car park.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
In 2025 there are big changes coming with the introduction of the ETIAS visa for entry to the Schengen Area. The ETIAS is a visitor visa (similar to the American ESTA and the Canadian eTA).
The application system hasn't opened yet but you can find out everything that you need to know for now here: ETIAS News & Information For Visitors Coming To Europe
Please let us know your travel plans once you have booked: nonstopsnow.com/travel-survey
It is essential that you purchase suitable insurance cover for your course; remember YOU need to check the policy wording to make sure it gives the cover you need. If you are coming from overseas this will mean a full travel insurance package, if you are coming from France then this will mean a package that covers curtailment, valuables etc.
For a 1 week course like this most insurance policies with winter sports will cover what you need.
Things to consider:
Frustratingly not all insurance companies have the same definition for "off-piste" which means that you must do thorough research to ensure that you're covered. On a Nonstop course you'll be skiing throughout the resort both on groomed (piste) and on ungroomed (off-piste) slopes (which may or may not have trail names). Some of those areas may be in amongst the trees.
It’s important to take into consideration two factors. One, what is the total amount paid out in the event of loss of baggage (e.g. £2000) and two, what is the single item cover amount? Your skis are considered one item and if they are worth £500 and your single item cover is only £250 you will be in for a shock when you claim for the full amount! The total amount is what the company will go up to, comprised of the combined amount of all single items claimed for.
It is worth noting how much you will get back should you have to cancel your course (before it has started). Some will pay 50% some will pay 100%. Make sure you understand exactly how much your policy will cover and in what scenarios.
It is important that all our participants understand that Nonstop cannot provide any refunds in the event of an injury that prevents them completing their course.
This part is vital and needs careful consideration. One company we asked said they would pay £75 per day! Sounds good hey? But they followed it up by saying £75 a day up to £450. So basically you get money for a total of six days. If you get hurt on the first day that leaves 3 weeks you will not receive money for. Some companies will cover you for more than this but it will come at a cost. The more cover you want, the more you will have to pay for it.
Once you have taken out travel insurance, please send a copy to snowsupport@nonstopsnow.com so that we have it on file in case we need to help you out in a medical emergency.
We appreciate it can be a daunting task trying to work out what you will need to pack for life in the mountains without needing a forklift truck to get it all to Serre Chevalier! When you arrive in resort you will soon work out what you need to stay warm, dry and comfortable, not just on the slopes but in the town too; but here is some advice to get you started.
Check out our kit list here
We encourage renting in resort - as that will enable you to change your skis easily according to the conditions.
For instance, a ski width of roughly 100mm underfoot would be great when there is fresh snow, but less fun if the conditions aren’t like that!
Here’s our general guidance:
Skis / Bindings / Boots
RENTALS
You can rent skis from
Ski Connections -let them know that you're with Nonstop and they may be able to deliver them to the Aravet office for you.
In addition to the standard kit list you may also want to consider the following:
AVALANCHE EQUIPMENT
During the week, your ski group may go into off piste areas of the ski area. Whether this happens or not will very much be determined by the snow conditions and the ability of each ski group. Avalanche kits will therefore be required (this includes; shovel, probe, transceiver & a rucksack to carry it all in).
You can rent a pack for the week from Ski Connections for €90. If you would like to rent, please let me know in advance, so that they know how many are needed.
We know some clients may enjoy having their own gear. If you are wanting to buy avi kit then this is what you need:
This is an example if the type of kit you can buy (note, you would also need a suitable bag): AVI KIT
All Covid travel restrictions were lifted on 23 March 2023. You no longer need to be vaccinated to or complete a health declaration to enter France.
We will continue to keep an eye on these rules in case of any changes.
We look forward to speaking with you.
