It always adds a positive extra element to the social mix when friends, partners or family visit our participants in Canada. We definitely encourage it, and it gives you a chance to show off your new riding skills!
You should discourage your family or friends from visiting during exam weeks or the week before the level 1. The Level 1 exam is held in week 5, so generally after week 5 is the best week for friends to join. You will have just finished your Level 1 so there will be no stress and a great vibe on the course!
Any week would be fine for visitors except the week that you'll be touring at the Boulder Hut. If you're unsure on the dates, give us a call in the office.
We've put together a package designed specifically for friends and family of our 11 week clients. When they visit they're going to witness quite how far you've developed your skiing or riding and will no doubt wish they could experience a taste of the coaching you've been getting. Therefore, during the 11 week course we'll be holding a version of our popular 1 week development/performance camps tailored for your friends and family. It's a great way of massively improving their technique and skills in the powder and bowls of Fernie - and really is the only way to ensure they get to see all the hidden gems that Fernie is renowned for. We'll organise everything they need for an amazing and memorable trip - from flights, transfers, accommodation, meals, lift passes, and coaching. All abilities are welcome. Please contact us for more details.
We reserve a couple of rooms at The Red Tree Lodge for this precise reason and your friends and family would be more than welcome to book a room. We offer a 15% friends and family discount. They can either book online: www.redtreelodge.com (Use Discount Code: NSFF) or call the lodge on +1 250 423 4622. Once in Canada you can arrange for your friends and family to join our breakfasts.
An alternative option... If you have opted for a single room, we are happy for your friends to join you for a maximum of 14 nights for a $20 supplement per night. You must clear this with your course host first and if you are staying in a house you must get permission from all your housemates too.
We can arrange discounted lift passes for your visiting friends and family. Make sure they speak to us before they get to Fernie!
If you're taking a course in Banff or Red Mountain and would like your family or friends to come and visit you then we suggest that they contact our friends at Ski Safari who specialise in ski trips to Canada and are experts in providing ski holidays.
We look forward to speaking with you.
