Master The Mountain Course Diary - Week One
The Great Canadian conditions welcomed our six week MTM and three week campers this week. It started with extreme low temperatures on arrival. Extreme snowfall resulted and an amazing powder day kicked things off for our first day of lessons...
The group were stoked to be in Fernie for the next few weeks
The Nonstop pros joined our new arrivals for some beers and rare prime rib dinner to get acquainted. Monday morning was another gift from the Griz with the legendary champagne powder. Smiles were contagious around town along with tale after tale experiencing the “white room”. Great Times! Another one of Fernie’s magical Mondays.
Snowboard pro James enjoying the fresh stuff
Thursday morning was a treat as we experienced first tracks. An early start to enjoy the entire mountain exclusive to Nonstop, the team loaded the chair in time to watch the sunrise and shredded clean lines five times over until the public joined at general starting time.
First Tracks not only gave the Nonstoppers access to a private mountain, it also made for great views
We capped the week off with a team apres in the Griz Bar as we shared pitchers and glory stories with the Nonstop pros. Followed by a Ghostriders game, as the local ice hockey team took on their rivals the Kimberley Dynamiters. A taste of local entertainment for those who experienced their first Canadian hockey game.
The crew got a taste of Canada with a local ice hockey game

The Master the Mountain course is a six week program that gives you the best possible training in big mountain skiing or riding. It's an ideal course for a career break, culminating in a trip to a remote backcountry lodge accessed by helicopter. The ski camps and snowboard courses are a great way to make sure that you don't just cruise around on the mountain, but that you actually improve. They are great fun, super sociable and you come away being able to tackle terrain you could only have imagined before your Nonstop program. Come and join us in Fernie and find out for yourself.
