Short on time and already a very strong skier? Join us for 6 weeks in Val d’Isere and kickstart your ski instructor career. Known for it's nightlife and it's massive ski area, Val D'Isere is a great place to develop you skiing, get qualified and meet new friends.

Val D'Isere is one of the biggest ski areas in the world, boasting over 300km of pistes and 90 chair lifts. It has something for everyone; consistantly high snowfall, wide open groomers, challenging terrain, world famous nightlife.

On Snow

You will be coached by an official BASI Training Centre that are responsible for the largest number of trainiees qualifying through the BASI system. The BASI Trainers are highly respected and as well as preparing you for your exams, will help develop all aspects of your skiing - bumps, racing, off piste, freestlye.


You’ll be training for your BASI 1 & BASI 2 certifications, which will enable you to work as an instructor all over the world. BASI is the UK national training and grading provider for professional snowsports instructing and coaching qualifications.

During and after your course, we can offer you help and advice on securing instructor jobs around the word. The one place that you will not be able to work is France. There are many more hurdles to jump before you can instruct in France.


You'll stay in ski in/ski out apartments right in the heart of Val D'Isere

Course Milestones Here's what your 6 weeks in Val d'Isere will look like
Week 1
You'll start the course by taking the 5 day BASI level 1 exam. During the 5 day exam you'll develop your performance and teaching skills
Week 2
Ski school experience week. This week will see you go out with an experienced instructor and a real group of students to see what life is like as a ski instructor.
Week 3
A week of performance training with BASI Trainers. This will be an opportunity to work on what you've learnt from the first two weeks.
Week 4
Preparation for your level 2 is the focus this week. Your BASI trainers will focus on performance coaching and implimenting your action plan
Week 5 -6
The BASI Level 2 exam. Learning will continue as you are assessed over two blocks of 5 days on your skiing and teaching.
Dates & Prices

What's Included

Professional Coaching +

Coaching is delivered by BASI trainers and helps you to prepare for the exams and develop your skiing technique. The amount of time spent with your trainers varies each week (from around 17-25hrs)

Ski School Experience +

In week 2 you will shadow an expereinced instructor and their group of students. This is part of the BASI syllabus and an excellent opportunity to find out what life as an instructor is really like.

Accommodation +

Your ski in/ski out apartments can be found at the bottom of the Bellvarde pistes and directly opposite the ski lesson meeting point. The apartments are 3 star, with a well equiped kitchen/dining area, a balcony, wifi and a ski locker. The apartments are small but have everything you need.

There will be 3 people to each apartment, two in bunkbeds and one on a pull out bed in the lounge.

Airport Transfers +

.Included in your package are group transfers from/to Geneva. Once you have booked we'll give you all the information regarding timings and meeting points

In-Resort Hosting +

A resort manager will be on hand 24/7 to provide support and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Instructor Career Advice +

Career advice, CV advice, professional references, industry contacts, discounts on equipment will be available once you complete the course.

Not Included +

These things are not included in the package:

Flights +
Flights to Geneva are regular and inexpensive. Once you have booked we will send you information regarding group transfers so that you can align with those.
Travel Insurance +
Insurance is vitally important and we urge you to take some time to ensure you have the right package for you. Pay attention to injury, curtailment and loss of personal effects policies. Once you have booked, we can give you the details of suppliers used by past students.
Ski Equipment +
You will need your own equipment for this course. If you don't already have it then you can purchase it in resort. Note that you will be going straight into your BASI 1 exam week so won't have a chance to wear it in or try different options.
Breaksfasts, Lunches & Weekend Meals +
Sample the many great restaurants in the area or make your own in your apartment.
