CSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor CourseBanff, Canada - 3 Weeks

Qualify and Instruct

The 3 week CSIA ski instructor course is perfect for those looking to qualify and work in the same season, as well as for those with three weeks to dedicate to massively progressing their skiing. You'll learn in all three Banff resorts, something unique to Nonstop. The course starts as soon as the resorts open, so you can qualify and be ready to start work before the busy period.

Resort

Unique to Nonstop in Banff, you'll ski in all three of the local areas: Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Norquay. There are plenty of ski instructor courses that only train in one of those areas, which we believe is restrictive, and if we're honest, a little boring!

Joining us in Banff is the only way to experience the largest ski area in North America. As Banff is further north than a lot of other Canadian resorts, it's cold enough for good early-season conditions for this course. It's also a great option for younger people taking ski instructor courses as the drinking age is 18 in Alberta.

Coaching

We've formed a team of the very best Level 3 and 4 CSIA instructors in the Bow Valley for this program. For the first part of the course, they'll help you to improve your skiing technique around the whole mountain, ironing out any bad habits and teaching you to ski like an instructor. Once your own skiing is at the required level, we'll teach you how to pass those skills on to others, in readiness for your final instructor exams in the last week of the course.

Ski instructor training will give you an understanding of the science of skiing and will teach you to analyse your own technique. It really is the best instruction you'll ever have and it will allow you to continue progressing long after the course itself.

Stay for the season

If you're looking to stay on for the season and work, this is the perfect course with both your qualification and accommodation taken care of. You'll have a guaranteed interview with Ski Big 3, who are able to teach at all three resorts, and graduates often also go on to work directly for the individual resorts. There is a recruitment drive directly after the end of the course and job opportunities are there for the taking.

Whether you plan to instruct after this course or not, there's a massive amount to be gained. With five hours of coaching, four days per week, we'll take your skiing to a whole new level.

Weekends & Activities

During the course we organise socials to keep you entertained off the slopes. Banff is famous for its night life and with loads of great bars, an ice rink, natural hot springs, cinema and a spectacular national park on your doorstep, you won't have much time for rest. If you're staying for the whole season you can get involved in the massive selection of activities offered on our Banff 11 week course through our "More Program".

Accommodation

We have two accommodation types: if you're planning to stay for the whole season, we have centrally-located houses: experience life as a Banff local!

Our 3-week guests stay at Irwins Inn, only a stone's throw from the bustling town centre of Banff with its variety of shops, bars and restaurants. You'll feel at home in no time with your own queen sized bed, en suite bathroom and cable TV, along with access to a hot tub, gym and swimming pool.

We include breakfasts five days and a hearty evening meal four days a week, enabling you to sample the wide range of restaurants in town.
