Hunting down the best terrain and freshest snow to fine tune your skills ahead of the big trip around the corner. You'll be brief on what you can expect during your time at the Boulder Hut – everything from what a typical day will involve to what to pack in your rucksack.

Boulder Hut

A famous backcountry touring cabin, the Boulder Hut is located in the heart of in the Canadian Rockies in the Purcell mountain range. Only accessible by helicopter, it is run by Mark and Sarah Yancey who have an infectious passion for adventure. They have been operating the lodge for 10 years and have a great deal of experience in the backcountry.

You’ll be well taken care of during your stay at the Boulder Hut, with delicious home-cooked meals prepared for you every day. The wood-fired hot tub is the perfect place to relax and swap stories form the day's adventures. With zero connectivity, the lodge is a great location to disconnect from the outside world.

We’ll equip you with a split board for touring and all safety equipment you need. Each day you’ll venture out into your spectacular surroundings with two guides who have expert knowledge of the terrain, conditions and snowpack.

They’ll tell you the plan for the day and off you'll go on in search of the light snow and fresh lines. To take part is this course, you will need to be an advanced skier with some basic ski touring experience.

A good night's sleep to match a great day on the hill, this is an ideal base for your time in Fernie. Back in 2007 we purchased our very own hotel and set about making it the best ski accommodation possible by focusing on comfort and excellent facilities.

All rooms have queen sized beds and facilities include a sauna and hot tub, ski storage and tuning room, movie room, full kitchen facilities and our on-site restaurant and bar, where all of your course meals are served.
