Canada, here we come

To ensure you can secure a flight on the date you want to travel we recommend that you book your seat as soon as you've booked your course  Details on the specific flight dates and transfer times for your course are in your Welcome Pack. Once you have booked your flight please use your Unique Customer Reference (at the top of your confirmation email) to fill in this survey here.

BOOKING YOUR FLIGHT

For most of our courses you will need to fly to Calgary, Alberta (YYC). To ensure that you can catch the "Nonstop group transfer" to the resort, please check the times in your Welcome Pack.

TRAVELLING FROM THE UK

We've teamed up with STA Travel to arrange your flights. They have access to great rates plus they cut out some tiring admin for you because they'll pass on your flight details directly to us, saving you having to complete another survey.

Generally speaking, the earlier you book your flights the cheaper they will be. Rates vary according to your travel dates but they typically range from £700 - £850.

TRAVELLING FROM AUSTRALIA

Many of our participants travel from Australia and while we are unable to arrange your flights, here are some of the airlines that offer a service to Calgary:

ARRANGING A TRANSFER

Nonstop organises airport coach transfers on the course dates. The time of the coach transfer is determined by the times of the group flights we book from the UK. If you wish to utilise the Nonstop transfer, you will need to co-ordinate your flights with the times of the group flights we organise from/to the UK.

If you are not travelling on a flight arranged by Nonstop but you intend to join our group transfer then you can let us know through the Travel Questionnaire provided in the info pack.

If you are flying into Canada on a plane that does not co-ordinate with our group transfer you will need to organise your own transfer to the resort.

FERNIE

"Mountain High Shuttle" is  locally owned and run. They will become familiar to you during your time in Fernie as they operate the daily shuttles to and from the ski hill. They also operate transfers between Calgary airport and Fernie on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, once a day. The shuttle departs Calgary at 1700 and will arrive in Fernie at 2100. The return leg will depart from the Red Tree Lodge at 1015 and arrive at Calgary airport at 1415. The rate is $119 each way, plus taxes. You can book your place online via their website, where you will also find more information about the shuttle services. 

"The Fernie Shuttle" offers a direct service between Calgary airport and Fernie. Single fare costs around $125 plus taxes and a return costs around $220 plus taxes. They run a transfer from Calgary to Fernie once a day.  They are very friendly but be sure to book a transfer a month in advance as they cannot do short notice. They are based in Canada, so please check the time before calling them on +1 250 423 4023 or contact via their website.

If you are booking last minute then please fly to Cranbrook from Calgary, and use a more regular transfer service with the Fernie Connector.

BANFF

Banff Airporter operates multiple scheduled departures between 5am and 10.30pm daily. One way costs CAD$58.95 + Tax. Nonstop participants can receive a 15% discount if they book via the website link www.banffairporter.com/agents On the left hand side type in: User Name: nonstop  Password: nonstop01. The discount is applied on the final stage of the booking process.

RED MOUNTAIN

One reason Red Mountain is so awesome is because it's hard to get to - so those that make the effort have paradise to themselves!

If you fly into Spokane, you can catch a shuttle with Queen City Shuttle.

If you are flying to Castlegar or Trail please use Kootney Shuttle.

VISAS

UK and Australian Passport holders are able to visit Canada without a visa for up to 6-months, so long as you do not intend to work whilst you are out there. You need to show proof of a return flight and it would be worth taking a copy of your Nonstop invoice to prove why you are coming to Canada for such a long length of time. This will speed up the customs & immigration process at the airport.

If you are on the guarenteed instructor program or a 3 week course and plan on working afterwards, you will need a working holiday visa. Without one you will not be able to work in Canada. If you do not have one of these let the office know as soon as possible.
