# Nonstop Life

The MORE program

Our flagship MORE program is a series of trips and experiences exclusive to our courses in Canada. Here's what you're in for. (6 min read)

Driven by a deep-rooted philosophy of adventure, we're here to help carve out the memories that will define your winter. Our courses are designed with an explorer's touch, to deliver far more than just world-beating qualifications.

Welcome to our MORE program: an action-packed schedule of activities, trips and experiences to make your season nothing short of unforgettable.

From cat skiing in the wilderness, to powder-chasing road trips and avalanche training, here's a selection of a few that you can choose from.

I was blown away by how many great activities Nonstop had arranged for us to choose from. As if skiing everyday was not enough, the extra activities really made my time in Canada. I did a lot of research before choosing Nonstop, but it was the amount of extras included in the package that helped me decide.

Avalanche safety training
Available in: Fernie, Banff, Red Mountain

This two-day course will educate you on the dangers of avalanches and how to keep safe in the backcountry. Split between field and theory, prepare to learn, dig and role play. Essential training for budding backcountry explorers, and great for any instructor's CV.

Cat skiing / boarding
Available in: Fernie, Banff, Red Mountain

Put your skills to the test in a quest for powder glory. With a snowcat as your ride and the backcountry at your feet, this is not your average day on the hill. Think endless wilderness, unlimited fields of pillow-soft pow and a cabin full of stoke.

Snowmobiling
Available in: Fernie, Banff

An adrenaline junkie’s dream, and essential initiation into Canadian mountain culture. Your ride for the day: a 150-horsepower machine built for explorers. With your friends in tow, journey along seesawing trails and charge through open powder fields, all in the name of adventure.

Yoga
Available in: Fernie, Banff

Great for the mind, body and soul. Keep yourself fit and healthy throughout the winter with weekly yoga sessions led by a local guru. Develop your flexibility, balance and core so you can keep charging hard all-season long.

Heli tour
Available in: Fernie, Banff

Hop into a heli and fly over the formidable Rockies at 8,000 feet. With a birds-eye view of your jaw-dropping surrounds, prepare to see your mountain home from a new angle.

Backcountry touring
Available in: Fernie

Earn your turns on a full-day guided expedition through the local slackcountry. Away from resort boundaries, you'll zig-zag your way to nearby summits and transition to downhill mode. Undisturbed snow awaits, but the true prize is in the meditative and social uphill climbs.

Winter camping
Available in: Fernie

Only the brave dare. Grab last lift as the mountain empties, head into the sidecountry with a crew of intrepid adventurers, and master the art of building your own igloo. The reward is a night under the stars in your hand-crafted snow cave. They’ll be bonfire singalongs, toasted marshmallows, and fresh tracks at sunrise.

Whitefish weekend
Available in: Fernie

All aboard our American-style bus for a short trip south of the US-Canadian border to Whitefish Mountain Resort. An underrated paradise, just how we like it. By day, explore the open glades, steep trees and five terrain parks. And when lifts close, après turns to party. What happens in Whitefish, stays in Whitefish.

Castle Mountain trip
Available in: Fernie

One of the best kept secrets in Canada, this small ski hill has an old school vibe with terrain as gnarly as any. Creaky but sturdy chairs take you to the summit, then it’s all about the descent. When it snows here, there’s probably more snow than you could handle. Bring your snorkel.

Snowbiking
Available in: Fernie

Grab your fat bike and head on an adventure. Your guide will find you the best trails to explore based on snow conditions and group vibe. Ride across undulating terrain in this sport of skill, decision-making and power.

Lake skating
Available in: Fernie

Head on down to a local frozen lake for a natural skating experience amidst frozen mountains and alpine forests. 12-inch thick ice covers the water and with everything you need for a competitive ice hockey dual, it’s game on. Canada vs the World.

XC-skiing
Available in: Fernie

Work up a sweat using your own locomotion for propulsion in this traditional mountain pursuit. Through lush forest trails we go, this is Nordic skiing at its finest. Not as easy as it looks. Finesse, timing and rhythm are essential.

NHL ice hockey
Available in: Banff

Vocal chords warmed up, jersey on and beer in hand. Prepare to experience a national Canadian pastime as you cheer on the Calgary Flames in a fast-paced, fists-out extravaganza. The highest level of ice hockey on the planet, the skills on show are sure to impress.

Dog sledding
Available in: Banff

Mush your own sled as you charge through frozen wilderness led by a pack of fearless huskies, powerful and adorable in equal measure. Meet your furry team, learn the proper techniques of dog-powered travel, and glide beneath soaring peaks in this exhilarating yet peaceful adventure.

Kicking Horse trip
Available in: Banff

Across the provincial border from Alberta to BC resides a mountain famed for its steep couloirs and double-black diamonds. A stop on the fabled Powder Highway, Kicking Horse is a powder hunter’s dream. For the adventurers, hike up ‘Stairway to Heaven’ for a cornice-defying drop in and an open bowl for the taking.

Revelstoke weekend
Available in: Banff

A journey to Revelstoke is a rite of passage for any serious skier or snowboarder. Another of the Powder Highway’s legendary halts, this adventurous resort is a freeride heaven. From hikeable ridges to top-to-bottom blacks, prepare for the longest vertical in North America. Don't forget your fat skis.

Whitewater weekend
Available in: Red Mountain

Only an hour from Red Mountain lies another hidden gem. Whitewater Mountain Resort, notorious for its deep powder, playful features and explorative sidecountry. Discover the charming town of Nelson and rejuvenate at the Ainsworth Hot Springs on the journey home.

Salmo night skiing
Available in: Red Mountain

Night skiing in BC is like being on the moon. At sundown head to Salmo Ski Hill, a scenic 60-minute journey from Rossland. Ski under the stars with your comrades and test yourself in the half pipe. High fives guaranteed.

How it works

The MORE program involves a credit-based system designed so that you can handpick the activities you want to take part in. Included in all 11 week course packages are 25 credits, each worth $10. How you use your credits is up to you, and if your 25 credits don’t stretch far enough, you can purchase more at any time.

But first, you need to choose your ski instructor course / snowboard instructor course. Take a look at the options and get in touch with our team of experts to find your ultimate destination.
