Whistler University (CASI level 1 & job)

Guidance from the best. Our course starts right at the very beginning of the season and our team of experience instructor trainers will refine your riding and teaching skills. Although the ultimate goal of the first four weeks is to pass your CASI Level 1 snowboard instructor exams, we’ll make sure that you have a lot of fun in the process. We’ll show you the best areas of this vast resort and pass on all the local knowledge that will set you up for a sensational season!

Becoming a snowboard instructor. After passing your Level 1 exams, you’ll go straight into the Whistler Blackcomb snow school and start taking your own lessons as a fully paid snowboard instructor!

Settling in for the season. You’ll make yourself at home in the Whistler Blackcomb staff accommodation from the beginning of the season, so you’ll be part of the team before you even qualify. Throughout the season you get staff discounts on food and drink, and you’ll have the opportunity to buy “meal cards”, that will allow you to get super cheap and hearty meals. During the initial training period, you’ll also get an inclusive group meal every week to help you bond with the rest of the new instructors.

Instructing in the future. You’ll be encouraged to progress all the while you’re in the snow school and you’ll have the opportunity to work towards your Level 2 qualification. Whistler Blackcomb and CASI qualifications are renowned and respected around the world, so you’ll be in an excellent position to get future snowboard instructor jobs. As a Nonstop graduate, we’ll keep you up to date when we are notified about job vacancies and will give you plenty of advice about how to apply for jobs.
