3-5 week
Banff Level 1 Ski Instructor Courses
Our early season 3 week ski instructor course is the perfect for those looking to qualify and instruct in the same season, as well as those looking to massively progress their skiing skills. We also have an option to take a 5 week course in January, if you'd rather enjoy the experience for a little longer! Whichever option you choose, you'll love being right in the middle of this legendary part town!
First class training. For the first part of the course, our team of highly skilled instructors will concentrate on skiing technique around the whole mountain, ironing out any bad habits and teaching you to ski like an instructor. Once your own skiing is at the required level, we’ll teach you how to pass those skills on to others, in readiness for your ski instructor course finals in the third week.
The best way to learn. Whether you plan to instruct after this course or not, there’s a massive amount to be gained. With five hours of coaching, four days per week, we’ll take your skiing to a whole new level. Ski instructor training will give you an understanding of the science of skiing and will teach you to analyse your own technique. It really is the best instruction you’ll ever have and it will allow you to continue progressing long after the course itself.
Don’t just ski one resort, ski them all!
Unique to Nonstop in Banff, you’ll ski in all three of the local areas: Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Norquay. There are plenty of ski instructor courses that only train in one of those areas, which we believe is restrictive, and a little boring! Joining us in Banff is the only way to experience the largest ski area in North America.
Accommodation for the course or the whole season. Our course accommodation at Irwins Inn is only a stone’s throw from the bustling town centre of Banff, with its huge variety of shops, bars and restaurants. You’ll feel at home in no time with your own queen sized bed, en-suite bathroom and cable TV, along with access to a hot tub, gym and swimming pool. If you’re planning to stay in Banff for the whole season and work, we also have season-long accommodation options in centrally located houses, where you’ll really live life as a Banff local.
Meals included. You’ll need to stay well fed to keep your energy levels up on this “nonstop” course! We include breakfasts five days per week and a hearty evening meal on four nights a week, leaving you a few opportunities to sample the wide range of restaurants around Banff.
FACT: Banff is a great option for younger people taking ski instructor courses. Being in Alberta, the drinking age is 18.
Get the local knowledge. We’re incredibly lucky to have Emily Park hosting this course in Banff. Since taking a Nonstop course back in 2006, Emily has made Banff her home and has become a fountain of local knowledge. She’s always got her finger on the pulse and her ear on the grape vine, so you’ll know where and when to hit the liveliest parties, the best bars and to make the most of any discounts and deals around town.
