Red Mountain

Meet The Team

We pride ourselves on employing the best. Nearly all our staff are Canadian or local to Red and can give you valuable insight; far more than some UK rep who has just arrived. We consistently hear that our staff made the course even better than could be expected.

Mark Impey

Red Mt Programme Director

And skier extroardinaire!

Mark has been living in Rossland and Red Mountain for years and what he doesn't know about the place isn't worth knowing! Mark will be on hand to help with any advice you need or questions you have. You will also see him on the slopes as he is one of the best instructors in Canada - you lucky things!

The Instructors

We have an excellent team of instructors in RED all of whom have been selected for their experience in coaching our programmes and for their extensive local knowledge. They will ensure that you are enjoying the best conditions on the mountain and take you to all those 'secret stashes' of untracked powder. You will have lift line priority during your lessons so on the rare occasion that there are lift queues you will be able to maximise your time on the slopes.

Level 4 Ski Instructor

Certifications:

* Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance Level 4
* Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance Level 1 Course Conductor
* Canadian Ski Coaches Federation Level 2

Teaching Philosophy:

I tend to use an all mountain tactic to teach people in order to challenge my students to their maximum ability. I encourage them to think outside the box in order to exceed their expectations. Practice something until they succeed by using the entire mountain. I want to make them successful and enjoy what the mountain has to offer.

Skiing Philosophy:

I try to ski everywhere. I like to push and scare myself sometimes to diversify my skiing as much as I can until I reach a point, called exhilaration.

Matt Brigs

Level 3 Snowboard Instructor

Always pushing it to the max!

Matt has been snowboarding for years and is extremely well qualified with his Canadian Snowboard Instructors Alliance Level 3 and Canadian Snowboard Instructors Alliance Level 1 Course Conductor. He believes that the best way to teach is by providing his students with small steps to help them learn best, take one small step and build on it with another. This way students feel stronger and often challenge themselves more outside of the lessons. Rushing ahead can often send students backwards. He loves riding with friends or in a group and being able to feed off each other. This is a good way to push yourself and become a better snowboarder. His favourite run is Powderfields.

Brent Hahn

Level 3 ski instructor

For the last 13 years, various ski resorts across Canada have been graced by Brent's presence as a committed and professional ski instructor. In 2010 Brent moved to Rossland, BC with his lovely wife to coach for Nonstop. Well, he liked Rossland so much that he bought a house, and is now fully settled in with a family! Brent is an incredible skier and teacher, if you come to Red you'll no doubt be shredding pow with him on a daily basis!
