Banff is a world famous lively and bustling ski town and is the gateway to three world-renowned resorts; Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay. We are the only company offering top quality training in all three of the Banff ski areas, not just one!
Banff's three resorts offer an incredible variety of terrain. The combination of Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay is the largest ski area in Canada.
The snow conditions and type of terrain varies considerably between the three resorts and offers our seasonnaires a great training ground for developing their skills and working towards ski or snowboard instructor qualifications. Your lift pass will cover all three resorts and our instructors will ensure that each day you visit the resort that has the best conditions.
Situated in the heart of the National Park and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, Banff is one of Canada's best-known party towns.
Lake Louise is world renowned for its extensive area, dry powder, modern services, and stunning scenery. The vast resort is spread over four mountain faces, giving a massive 4,200 acres of trails and pistes. The wide, well manicured pistes and the challenging opportunities off piste make it a resort for everyone.
Lake Louise is also famous for having one of the best North American parks. There are a variety of lines laid out for different levels of experience offering beginners a variety of small tables, hops and rollers that provide a perfect introduction to park riding. The intermediate and pro lines offer more advanced riders larger table features and technical rails.
Sunshine is known for having some of Canada's best and most reliable snow conditions, so good in fact that there's no need for snow making! On average Sunshine receives a staggering 33ft of the white stuff a year!
At an altitiude of 8,954 feet (2730 meters) Sunshine is the highest resort in Canada and has one of the longest seasons in North America. The resort has a huge range of terrain from wide groomed pistes and winding cat tracks to open powder bowls and gladed tree runs.
In general Sunshine is not a particularly steep area, offering novice and intermediate skiers and snowboarders a wide choice of runs. However, the 'Delirium Dive', only accessible to those wearing avalanche transceivers, is an awesome double-black extreme area that will push the most experienced skiers and riders to the limit.
Located just outside Banff, Norquay is the smallest of the three resorts but offers a wide variety of terrain including perfectly groomed pistes through to challenging lines on some steep double black diamonds. It is a quieter and more laid back resort and when it snows this is one of the best places to get fresh tracks without long lift lines.
Norquay has a good park, a selection of kickers and a variety of rails. There is a quick quad chair lift alongside the park so there's no need for hiking. Every Wednesday evening Norquay is open for night-skiing so you can make some late turns or session the park before enjoying beers in the Lone Pine Pub at the base of the resort.
Banff is a big town so we've made sure our accommodation is not only super comfortable but also situated close to all the shops, bars, and nightclubs. It's also where the resort bus stops to take you up to the slopes each morning.
Irwin's Inn has spacious and comfortable rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, cable TV and two queen sized beds. The hotel has great facilities; after a long day riding with your mates you can enjoy the hotel's hot tub or if you still have the energy, hit the gym for some gentle weights or cardio. Guests also have the use of an indoor swimming pool five days a week. Irwins also has on site laundry facilities, taking the effort out of the weekly clothes wash.

Teaching Nonstop in Banff is a unique experience because of all the amazing things the area has to offer. Every day we ski and snowboard at a different resort and each resort has different terrain and conditions. That variety makes it very easy to make every day a new adventure and makes skiers and snowboarders very versatile and able to tackle any terrain out there.
Banff has amazing restaurants, night life, friendly people, outdoor activities and some of the most spectacular views in the world. For me, the best part of Nonstop in Banff is the staff. The hosts and the instructors are professional, passionate about sharing their support and always up for an adventure. We love where we work and live, we love working together and we love sharing that with the people who participate in Nonstop every winter!
I am CSIA Level 3 ski instructor, CSIA park trained and children's teaching as well as CSCF development coach.
I have been riding for 16 years and been involved in CASI since the early days. I am one of just a handful of qualified Level 4 examiners so bring to the team a wealth of knowledge that few other program can hope to match. Always up for a good time, I play hard and ride hard and will push your riding throughout your time in Banff.
As well as the CASI snowboard instructor and examiner qualifications I also have my race and freestyle coaching qualifications.

My gig with Nonstop is probably the best! I sometimes feel guilty for it but I am almost sure nobody hates me for it! I get to jump from one wicked resort to the next while leading my guests through the Snow Safaris. To me, that is why the Nonstop experience is so amazing. Every new hill we arrive at, my job is to show my interim family every sweet spot the mountain is hiding. By the time we have sessioned each lift, it’s time to pack up and explore the next one. One Trick Pony, Kill the Banker, Beer Belly and Easter Bowl are only few favourites, come find yours!
I am a CASI Level 3 snowboard instructor, Level 2 course conductor, Park 1 and carving instructor.
