"MTM" Off-Piste Camp

Our 6 week "Master the Mountain" off piste camp is the ultimate in big mountain ski and snowboard training. Run from our Canadian base in Fernie, we really can’t think of a better mountain to develop your thirst for untamed terrain and improve your skills in the rough stuff.

Experience pristine untouched powder

James Stentiford powder turn FernieSpend six weeks with us and we’ll help you develop your skills across the whole mountain, tackling terrain you never thought possible, as well as perfecting those stylish turns in glorious untouched powder. We'll teach you how to ski-tour/split-board and take you into the backcountry wilderness. You'll feel closer to the mountain than ever before, while enjoying conditions that very few skiers and snowboarders ever get to experience.

Join us in the home of "Legendary Powder"

Shoulder deepBring your snorkel! You might think that Fernie’s ‘Legendary Powder’ slogan is a big claim, but the proof is in the pudding! Fernie regularly tops the snow charts in Western Canada and, with its inland location, the snow is cold, light and a dream to blast through!

Fernie boasts five large bowls and you’ll get to explore every corner over the 6 weeks. With almost nothing off-limits, you’re imagination will be able to run wild. You’ll pick your line through the bowls, among the trees, through the gullies and off the many natural hits. Fernie really does offer big mountain skiing and snowboarding at its best and all within the safety of excellent avalanche controlled areas. Check out some footage taken by one of the skiers on last year's course.

Fernie averages 48cm of snow per week while the resort is open, so you can expect more than a few powder days!

Learn from a specialist team of freeride instructors

ski instructors fernieFernie is the sort of resort where the most powder-hungry instructors want to live, so over the last ten years we have been able to form a team of the best high-level ski and snowboard instructors in the industry. You'll love skiing or riding alongside them, as they polish your technique and give you the tools you need to enjoy such an amazing mountain. Before you know it you'll be shredding the best parts of the mountain with confidence and style. Your skiing or snowboarding experience will be changed forever!

In the final week, you'll have the option to gain the Canadian Level 1 Instructor Certification

Take a heli trip into the wilderness

ski touring BCSaving the best till last. This amazing 6 week camp works its way up to an epic finale. At the end of the course, you’ll go on a four day wilderness adventure! You’ll take a breathtaking helicopter flight over the Kootenay mountain range, before landing at a backcountry lodge retreat. You’ll then spend four days experiencing an authentic backcountry lifestyle, touring into the great unknown and riding amazing untouched bottomless powder! Watch a 3 min guide of the Boulder Hut experience.

The course has been an incredible experience, but the Boulder Hut was the point at which it turned epic. The powder, the terrain, the company, the atmosphere and the food were all amazing. The best few days of my life were spent there, it made for a perfect climax to the course!
