Having never tried flow bindings I cannot make a comparison, but what I do know is I like my ratchets to be cranked when I ride to give me support and a responsive board. From what I have been told achieving that level of tightness is near impossible in flow bindings.

I have taught clients wearing flow bindings and they often struggled to really rail an edge when carving and they also were not that fast to strap in either!

Well, if you're worried about your street cred Georgie then you've got a few more things to tick off the list before you worry about your bindings!

On a more helpful note, I've often heard instructors talking about how the NONSTOP clients who own Flows find it harder to carve really well than the people who have standard ratchet bindings. It suggests they simply don't give you the fit that you can get with other bindings.

Anyone else found this?

To flow or not to flow? Embarrassingly I started my snowboarding days in Flows thinking that they were the 'practicial' way forward and that my skiing friends would never have to wait for me to strap in, it seemed so simple... If only someone had told me that the little snowboarding street cred I had (it really was minimal) was swiftly abolished simply by slipping my feet into these monster bindings. I have Ryan Fraser (NONSTOP tech director) to thank, his incessant bullying finally made me see sense... Ratchet bindings all the way in my opinion.
