The SnowDome Tamworth
If you love skiing and snowboarding and live anywhere near Birmingham the chances are you will have been to Tamworth SnowDome. Tamworth opened in 1994 and offers a 170m indoor slope with real snow, one of the first to do so. Since then Tamworth has grown in terms of what it offers, including indoor snowmobiling and snowtubing! Tamworth SnowDome is now seen as one of the leading indoor slopes on the UK scene especially for those keen to progress their freestyle.
This month at Tamworth SnowDome they have a freestyle event aimed at younger skiers; it is being run by Pat Sharples of the Salomon and Oakley Freestyle Ski Team. The camp is aimed at junior skiers of all levels and will cover many aspects of freestyle skiing. For all the information on this event click here
This footage is from 2007 but it still gives a really good idea of the freestyle scene at Tamworth and the amount of time and money they invest into developing new British talent.

If you are not quite up to that level then Tamworth SnowDome also allows you to progress your skiing or snowboarding from beginner to intermediate level. Not living near to the mountains doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t be on a ski slope each weekend. If you go regularly enough you will soon progress to the level of the freestyle guys.
