Cat skiing is an amazing experience and something that we recommend to everyone who comes to see us in Canada, particularly Fernie and Red Mountain. With fresh lines all day, it’s like heli skiing without the massive price tag!

O.K, so here it is: I’m sitting on my (super-comfortable) bed, muscles I never knew existed hurting like I’ve been put through a washing machine (I am assured by course-mates that this is not the case) trying to sum up the first week of Nonstop in a few precise words whilst listening to I Shot the Sheriff (Eric Clapton version) with a huge grin on my face. It’s been really interesting keeping track of our French ski instructor trainees over the last couple of weeks, being such a different training experience to any other course. The focus on slalom and speed is really taking the forefront. All of the trainees were very competent skiers when they headed out to Serre Chevalier, but their technique now is being fine-tuned to perfection
. When they come to take their “Test Technique”, an essential part of becoming a French ski instructor, they will need to shave every possible second off of their slalom time. There really isn’t any room for error! … Read more
I flew out to Canada on Saturday with a bunch of hyper powder hounds for the start of Nonstop’s 11 week ski and snowboard instructor course in Banff. It’s been ten years since I spent my first season here, and I was stoked to find that besides a couple new drinking holes not much has changed. Set in the stunning Canadian Rockies, it’s hard to come across a more picturesque town to spend a season, and the three resorts of Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mt Norquay provide endless terrain to ride.
