Freestyle snowboarding in Banff
While spending a week in Banff, I found it the quality of freestyle riding eye-opening. With amazing parks in all three of Banff’s local resorts (Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mount Norquay), there’s understandably a heavier focus on that area.

Time really flies! It seems like yesterday that everyone excitedly jetted out to Canada to start their courses, but already our 11 week Banff course has come to an end.

While visiting the 11 week instructor course in Banff, I was lucky enough to join the trip to Kicking Horse. It has a reputation as one of Canada’s best steep and deep resorts, so I’ve wanted to visit for a long time, to see whether it lives up to its reputation.

Banff instructor course diary – week 9
Here’s an update from Sarah and Alex in week 9 of our Banff instructor course…
Monday
With only 2 weeks to go before Level 2 pressure was on to perfect our teaching and skiing technique and Mike, Charlie and Annie were definitely on the case. Leaving the meeting point at precisely 10:00 (leaving almost half the skiers behind who caught the late bus – naughty!) we warmed up and headed up to the top of Lake Louise to focus on our turning.
