The start of week 8 coincided with Griz Day. This is an annual festival in Fernie to celebrate the Griz- an iconic mountain man who ensures the snow gods are appeased and Fernie full of powder. This year’s theme was “wake up the Griz” and the Fernie NONSTOP crew duly obliged by turning one of the buses into a mobile cuckoo clock. The Vuvuzelas, whistles and hair dye made sure we were one of the loudest and brightest floats in the parade. A notable mention should be made for our visitors from Banff for their sterling efforts to join in.
