Week 5 – Level 1 week
Monday – Thursday: Level 1 exams.
We were all assessed on our Level 1 CSIA this week, and it was pretty intensive. We were constantly assessed on our skiing, and our teaching was rated on days 3 and 4. It was a very tiring process as you really had to keep your concentration levels up.

The Red Tree Lodge Restaurant, Fernie BC, has quickly earned a well deserved reputation as one of the best places to eat in Fernie. Serving fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinners seven days a week. Paul Lappin came on our 11 week snowboard instructor course to Fernie in the 2007/08 season. Since doing the course with us Paul has gone on to work as a snowboard instructor at Mt Washington on Vancouver Island. Paul has kept a blog of his travels and it makes a really interesting read for anyone thinking of having a career break.
