Whistler 11-Week Ski and Snowboard Instructor Course ’09 – Week 6

The first powder week, and a chance to cut loose after passing the level 1 exam. We discovered runs in Whistler that we didn’t know existed before and saw some fantastic sights. We discovered the depth of variety of skiing that Whistler has to offer, in fact some of discovered the trees a bit too closely.

Highlights were Jason, one of the instructors, skiing into a snow drift and having to take his skis off, getting lost in the woods and having to hike out, Nick skiing into a tree well, skiing our first skull and cross bones run (falling will result in injury) and some fantastic views, even a rare sighting of the alusive snow bunny in the west bowl.
